sunshine + ocean views (weekly report)

Moving back to California meant that I’d be able to take more frequent walks. That hasn’t been the case lately in January, I’ve been enjoying cozy, more gloomy days indoors, but we had a bit of much-needed sunshine this week. I’m writing this on a Thursday and it rained a lot last night so it’s a bit more gloomy today. I’m probably not going to go for a walk, but I’m gonna take advantage of it by spending some time with a book.

reading

I haven’t been reading much this week. I’m still in the front half of Stephen King’s Fairy Tale, but I haven’t been dying to pick it up. When I do pick it up, I’m interested, but it feels so BIG. I may DNF it for now and try to read something else.

I’ve also been reading One Piece, and I probably will be for a long while. I just finished the Alabasta Arc in case anyone’s wondering 🙂

eating

Kin Bakeshop’s lemon pesto brioche donut (yes a donut) + Secret Bao’s udon carbonara.

playing

Black Clover Mobile LOL, there’s a special rate-up event going on right now and I really want to summon Yami.

obsessing

I’m always on the hunt for my next crochet project even though I’m in the middle of a make. Currently, I’ve been contemplating some smaller projects to break up my current one making myself a new beanie and crochet scrunchies (I have a bunch of hair elastics that would be perfect to use!!), so if I actually start something I will update.

recommending

For the 50th time, I’ve recommended Nina Lacour’s Yerba Buena to someone who asked what they should read. It’s just so good—easy to read, yet poignant and heartrending. The setting is also close to my heart, as it takes place partially in Los Angeles and Long Beach.

treating

After a long search, I finally found a copy of The Golden Compass at the thrift store. I’ve read the first 30 pages via library rental on my Kindle, but I needed more time and ever since then, I told myself I’d read it when I could find a copy at the thrift store so… it is Time.
